Established in Speyside in 1823 by The Cowie Family, Mortlach Distillery was once used for blending whisky like Johnnie Walker. Gainign popularity the father and son duo decided to throw their hats into the ring and released their whiskey on its own. Mortlach Rare Old is a blend of Mortlach single malts matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks with no age verification this blend was crafted as an introductory expression of the range and the Mortlach Family style. Now discontinued this highly sought after Scotch is among some of the best whiskey collections.
Notes: Smooth, medium-bodied. Aromas of plum, peach and blackberries with flavors of apples, pear, cocoa, caramel, and baking spices.
Pairings: Ribs, aged cheddar, russet potatoes
