Booker’s Bourbon 2025‑01 “Barry’s Batch” is the first release of 2025, paying tribute to Barry Berish—the longtime Beam CEO and dear friend of Booker and Fred Noe. Aged 7 years, 2 months, and 4 days, and bottled uncut at 125.7 proof (62.85% ABV), this batch is a powerhouse expression crafted from barrels aged across multiple warehouse floors (5 different warehouses: 41% from warehouse 3, 14% warehouse 1, 4% H, 32% X, 9% G) .
On the nose, expect a bold and warm profile with rich vanilla, cinnamon, allspice, and notes of paprika and white pepper that give way to dark caramel and that hallmark Booker’s nuttiness—roasted peanut butter and dried peanut skins . The palate delivers immediate sweetness—dark butterscotch, brown sugar, molasses, and even fresh figs—balanced by waves of oak, peanut butter fudge, caramel, milk chocolate, and spicy accents like cinnamon, white pepper, and a hint of jalapeño-esque heat. The finish is long, warming, and drying—packed with brown sugar, caramel, spices, oak tannins, walnut, leather, and a cooling menthol note. It closes with lingering notes of spice and peanut shell.
This batch shines because it’s a high-proof, bold and spicy bottling, yet leans sweeter than many earlier Booker’s releases—making it indulgently rich without sacrificing structure. The combination of cross-warehouse aging and tribute to Barry gives it both depth and heart, embodying the raw, unfiltered intensity fans expect, with the added sweetness and balance that make it unusually memorable.
