Launched in 2018, Blackened is a blend of North American bourbons and ryes, finished in black brandy casks and uniquely sonically enhanced using Metallica's music to extract deeper flavors from the wood. This cask strength edition, bottled at 61.4% ABV (122.85 proof), offers a robust and complex profile.

The whiskey presents a deep amber hue, indicative of its rich maturation. On the nose, it reveals aromas of rolled oats, vanilla wafers, figs, maple sugar, and toffee, creating a sweet and inviting bouquet. The palate is a harmonious blend of walnut, caramel, and vanilla crème, complemented by a finish of brown sugar, ancho chile, and cinnamon spice. This combination results in a warm, peppery, and pleasantly long finish. 

Each limited edition batch of Blackened Cask Strength is unique, reflecting the band's commitment to quality and innovation. The bottle is adorned with sound waves from Metallica's song "Blackened," symbolizing the brand's distinctive sonic enhancement process. This process involves playing low-frequency sound waves through the barrels during maturation, a technique co-developed with sound engineers at Meyer Sound, to extract more flavor from the wood.
