Benromach 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinguished expression from the Benromach Distillery, located in Speyside, Scotland. Established in 1898, the distillery has a storied history, with periods of closure and revival, and is currently owned by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail. This 15-year-old whisky is crafted using traditional methods, including the use of Highland peat, to emulate the classic Speyside style. Matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, with an extended finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks, it boasts a rich mahogany color. On the nose, it presents aromas of sweet toffee, cracked black pepper, and peat smoke, complemented by rich forest fruits, dark chocolate, and dried banana. The palate is creamy and sweet, featuring ripe apples, charred oak, and developing notes of dark chocolate, toasted malt, and orange peel, with a subtle hint of smoke. The finish is medium and creamy, with soft smoke and dried fruit lingering on the palate. Bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml presentation, Benromach 15 Year Old exemplifies the distillery's dedication to quality and traditional craftsmanship, making it a noteworthy addition to any whisky enthusiast's collection.
